Taylor E-2 "Cub"

1935 - N15356

The Taylor E-2, although small in stature, is an extremely important airplane to civilian aviation history. The E-2 was first dubbed the “Cub” due to its original engine the Tiger-Kitten; however, when it proved unusable, it was replaced, but the name stuck. The airplane was designed to be affordable to as many people as possible- ditching many comforts found in other airplanes. The price and simplicity made it perfectly suited for training pilots at a far lower cost than any plane that had come before.
